The Team
Both our chiropractors graduated from the accredited Welsh Institute of Chiropractic after four years full time study with a BSc Hons in Chiropractic. The degree is followed by a post-graduate year spent in a Chiropractic clinic with a qualified trainer to achieve a Diploma in Chiropractic (DC). Both chiropractors are members of the Chiropractic Association of Ireland and have kept their knowledge up to date by attending regular continued professional development courses since graduation.
Richard Wakefield (Doctor of Chiropractic)
After graduation in 2002 I worked for the following 8 years in Essex, Cambridgeshire and London (UK) gaining a wealth of

experience treating a vast array of conditions and meeting some wonderfully interesting people in the process. In 2010 I moved with my wife to Kildare to open Clane Chiropractic Clinic.
As an enthusiastic golfer I’m delighted to have relocated to an area abundant with courses. I have a great interest and first hand experience in the treatment of those conditions commonly suffered by today’s golfer and understand the passion to play and frustration when our bodies prevent us.
My aim as a chiropractor is to educate my patients to recognise the cause of their condition, addressing the cause will result in the desired outcome of care, rather than just patching up the symptoms.
Ellen Finnegan (Doctor of Chiropractic)
Since graduating in 2002 I’ve worked in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and

Kesgrave in Ipswich where I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and treating thousands of wonderful people. My patients have come from all walks of life from the very young (3 weeks old) to the more mature (99 years old), from the sedentary to the athlete.
Born and raised in a GAA mad family in County Galway, I was heavily involved in the local club, training underage players and assisting with injuries. Some of my immediate and extended family members have played football to county level. Indeed the phone has been known to ring with an injured relative on the other end seeking advice. So I too understand the frustrations of a body that is not functioning at its optimum potential.
Although I treat a wide variety of conditions my particular interest lies in the treatment of pregnant women. Its so exciting and such a privilege to make a difference in the life of someone who is not born yet!!
I look forward to meeting you in our clinic.
Kate Horrigan (Chiropractic Assistant)
I
feel very fortunate to have joined Clane Chiropractic when the business first opened as it has been very exciting to see the practice grow during the first year.
I enjoy welcoming new patients to the clinic and following their progress. It’s amazing to see patients who have struggled up the stairs on their first visit walk up effortlessly after a couple of treatments.
Richard and Ellen always give time to their patients so we don’t overbook their diaries. They are very good at keeping to schedule which keeps everyone happy!
I had never tried Chiropractic before working here and having had several falls off horses over the years had my fair share of aches and pains. I am amazed at how much better in general I feel since having regular adjustments and even headaches are now a rare event!
